Focus- Lunch and Bowling

Since many of you could not go to the Circus, we are scheduling an afternoon of lunch and bowling on December 4 following the 11:00 a.m. worship service. You will be responsible for your lunch bill and the Youth Group will pick up your two games of bowling.

A sign-up sheet will be in the Youth Room and in the school classrooms. You can also call me at 708-839-1200 ext. 5 if you want to attend. Parents are needed to drive.

Circus

Hey Middle School Youth

The Circus is coming and we are planning on going Saturday, November 26. We will leave Trinity at 6:00 p.m. and should return around 9:30 p.m. Turn in your orange sheet or call me to reserve your ticket. Cost is $10 per ticket. Friends are invited to attend. You are responsible for any refreshments.

Open Youth Room

Hey all Middle School Youth:

Just a reminder of the Open Youth Room scheduled for this coming Sunday Evening at 6:30 p.m. We will have time for Open Youth Room and Open Gym. Don't forget to invite a friend to come along. Refreshments will be served.

Also, if you signed-up to go to Youth Encounter I need your $25 non-refundable deposit. The balance $50 will be due after January 1.

Rock Climbing

The October outing for the Middle School Youth will be on Saturday, October 22. We will meet at Trinity at 5:00 p.m. and head to Vertical Endeavors in Warrenville for an evening of Rock Climbing. The cost is $15.00. Return time will be right around 8:30.

You will need to have a signed waiver form to participate. Parents are needed to drive. Please contact Rob Grady if you have a question or if you can help with driving.

Open Youth Room - Focus

We will meet this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in the church basement. We will spend some time in the gym, planning upcoming events and most importantly have a Bible Study. The evening will conclude at 8:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

Laser Quest

Plans have been made for a trip to Laser Quest in Downers Grove.
We will leave church at 6:00 p.m. (make sure you have eaten dinner beforehand.) We will collect all permission slips and money at that time. There will also be assignments for vehicles.
Games are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. We need to be at Laser Quest by 6:40 p.m. to check in.
Each game lasts 20 minutes. We will conclude playing at 8:00 p.m. and collect our score sheets.
We have the whole arena reserved for the two games. That means it will be only Trinity people playing the game. The maximum amount that can play at one time is 34.
Following Laser Quest we will head to Baker’s Square for refreshments. The Youth Group will pick up the cost of one piece of pie and beverage.
So, what does it cost? For two games of Laser Quest, pie and beverage the cost is $10.
A sign-up sheet is in the Youth Room.
Friends are welcome. Once we reach the 34 limit your name will be put on a waiting list.

LYE

Our spiritual retreat for the year will be April 15-17 at the Hilton Hotel by O’Hare Airport.
The theme for the weekend is “Calm the Storm” and is based on this act of God found in Luke 8:24.
We will be joining about 500 other middle school youth for this retreat. The weekend will include Bible studies, devotions, singing, speakers, games and workshops.
The cost for the event will be $50. This includes your two nights in the hotel, your food and your transportation. If you want to buy souvenirs that is up to you.
We will leave Trinity around 5:30 p.m. Make sure you have eaten dinner by this time. We will return Sunday around 12:30 p.m.

Whirlyball

Plans have been made for our February event to spend an afternoon playing Whirlyball in Lombard.
Whirlyball is a combination of bumper cars and lacrosse. The game pits 5 players against 5 players.
We will be leaving Trinity at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 26. Make sure that you eat lunch before you arrive. The Youth Group will supply snacks and sodas while we are there.
We will have the court for 2 hours. The number of people who show up will determine the number of people on each team. It looks like we will have to have three teams and rotate people playing. The maximum number of people who can attend is 30. A sign up sheet will be on the board in the Youth Room. Once we get more than 30, people will be placed on a waiting list.
Return time to Trinity will be around 4:00 p.m.
The cost for this event will be $15. Don’t forget to sign up any friends you intend on bringing

Lunch and a Movie

With a busy schedule in January the Lock-in will have to come at a later date in the school year. So, our event will be lunch and a movie.
The best possible date is Sunday, January 23.
We will come together following the 11:00 a.m. service and go to a local eating establishment.
We should be able to return to Trinity between 4:30 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
The choice of movie will be made as the event gets closer. The sign-up sheet is in the Youth Room.

White Sox Game - The Focus

Plans are being made to head down to the Cell and take in a White Sox game on September 25. The White Sox will be taking on Kansas City.
Even if you are not a Sox fan you can come for an evening out with friends and cheer for the other team.
The cost for a ticket would be in the neighborhood of $10.
The game begins at 6:00 p.m. We would leave Trinity at 4:30 p.m. The return time would depend on when the game and fireworks end. We are probably looking at 10:30 p.m.
The sign-up sheet will come around your classes and there is a sheet in the Youth Room. Don’t forget to invite a friend.
Sign-up deadline is September 19.
